Here are a few facts for all of the self hating owners of GM, Dodge/Chrysler and Ford products who feel the need to bash owners of Honda’s, Toyota’s etc.. According to Consumer Reports, The parts in a Dodge/Chrysler, GM or Ford product after three years are equivilant to eight year old parts in a Honda or Toyota. A lot of American car owners have been brainwashed to buy a vehicle based on what amenities come with it. First rule i was ever taught was, It’s what’s under the hood stupid!!!! I purchased a Chevy truck back in 1988. Paint job was defective, no maintenance balljoints cost me a front set of tires, brake line went, Starter went, Stick shift pin broke inside so i had to guess which gear i was in, tailgate handle was lost on the road someplace and finaly my vaunted Vor-tec v-6 engine died at 52,000 miles!! Come on, everybody sing along..Like a Rock, it’s on the tow truck or in the shop!!!!! Constantly in the shop. Could’a bought a couple of reliable cars with the money i spent on repairs. I personaly love Honda’s and their reliability, you know, From Point A to B and great gas mileage. Two months out of warranty and the dealership and the Mediator’s in Detroit would not give me a break or help in any way. That’s why the free market is so great! GM, Dodge/Chrysler and Ford all deserve what they’re getting these days, nothing but bad news. I feel for the workers. They’re just doing what they’re told putting junkmobiles together. There, i feel so much better.

why do pepole talk crap about G.M. i have worked on every thing you can name. the chepest thing i have ever fixed is always the G.M. cars and trucks.The only thing i will ever drive is a G.M truck or car.that is because i always work on my own G.M car and my 2 G.M trucks.you try working on forin job they are hard to work on and expensive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! tust me

Gm models cars only suck to those who are incapable of maintaining such a car. I have two Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz’s in pristine condition and factory original
and I get loads of compliments
That’s why Hondas have the highest theft rate is because cars like that are expendable and will never see the likes of classic status. Damn gear heads

Let’s be fair here. Even though I have a Honda Accord it’s not fair to say GM cars suck. That 1970 Camaro is a good running car!!! LOL!!!!!

I don’t buy american cars because I think they’re made in large part by dumb “good ol’ boys”. My brother bought a Ford Ranger. When he showed it off to me, it had a flashlight laying in the engine, and a beercan inside the door (behind the trim). He was embarrassed.

I use to install computers at american car dealerships, and frankly the mechanics scare me. I would not take a bicycle to them to fix. I’ve owned 7 Honda’s in my lifetime and the mechanics were all very professional.

Finally, I think detroits problem is with the union. The union is driving out all the jobs in our country. They’ve been slowly moving to Mexico already and Pretty soon the Japanese will be the only remaining builders of cars in the United States. I use to feel a little guilty about buying Japanese cars, but not since they’ve started employing american workers.

I have had a cavilier but the braking on it sucked….it took a long time for it to brake compared to my new honda…
also the gm cars are more clunky going down the road… i had a 91 mazda and the handling on it was excellent…

i have owned gm cars and trucks for 12 years and also worked on them for a livining. the one thing i have learned is that almost ANY car that is not well maintaned will not last.buying a used car is risky because you DO NOT know the care it has been given,so two used cars of bad luck dosent mean anything

I cant beleive how people take responsibility for their pampered jap cars breaking down but when its american its a different story. Fact jap cars are built out of fly paper.Fact jap styling is bland.Fact a 2002 SS Camaro is an icon that will be worth more in the future than anything that the japs have to offer .Fact american trucks are built better then japs & get similar mpg.Fact the Fast & The Furious should be called the Slow & The Stupid !!!!

My Sunbird is 15 yrs old (1991), over 425000 kms, and still going strong. I’ve seen jap cars break down much earlier. As long as i’m concerned, GM cars DO last !! some folks just don’t know how to take care of them.

I agree!!! At 100k a GM car or truck is ready for a major breakdown. At 100k a Honda is ready for another 100k. GM needs to wake up and take a look in the mirror and fix things or it will be only talked about in history books.
