I had a bunch of money sitting in my bank account. I was planning on using it towards my credit card bill. But I don’t think I will get first bill for my new card until next month, and I will be getting some more money before then. So I decided to invest $2000 into my Roth IRA and max it out for the 2006 tax year.
I decided to buy IYR (a Real Estate Investment Trust index fund). I have so much invested in various stock funds in my 401k. This helps diversify my investments some. I also love the bigger yields. They don’t affect me whatsoever tax-wise in my Roth IRA.
