Mine doesn't flicker anymore. The only think I can think is that when I reseated the battery, and locked it in, that it fixed the problem. That is when the problem seemed to go away.

Just purchased a acer aspire 1640 for £599.99 and my screen also flickers randomly grrrrrrr its only a week old. Definatly a hardware fault i think becuase the software and drivers are all up to date, and pass all diagnostics test.

I have been using the laptop computer a bit, and have not experienced the flickering again. I am still getting used to using the touchpad. It is definatly niced than the eraser head mouse on my old Compaq laptop. I would still prefer a mouse. The keyboard is different, and I spend some time correcting stuff.

I haven't called them yet. The flickering has seem to gone away. It still makes me nervous as wo why it was doing it. But I will keep and eye on it. Maybe the battery wasn't seated well?
