I see that the Japanese stock market dumped to the point that they shut it down. Our market will probably take a big dump today too. The next couple days may be a good time to buy if the market goes down a lot. Still considering selling my Michaels (MIK) and PetsMart (PETM) stocks and putting the money into a fund instead.
I just looked. Michaels is just past the ex-dividend date. So if I sold it now, I would end up with a dividend which would leave me with a tiny fraction of the stock sitting annoyingly in my account. I suppose I could shut off the dividend reinvestment so that the cash would just be deposited instead. Petsmart’s ex-dividend date is the 25th so I have a few days.

It’s quite crazy what happened with the Tokyo Stock Exchange. I am suprised how it didn’t really greatly affect Wall Street though. It could have been much worse.
