I ordered Quicken 2005 Premier Home & Business off of ebay. This last couple months as I was gathering tax stuff for my CPA, I had to pay $20 for transcripts of the transactions in my stock purchase plan so I could calculate the cost basis for a 2004 stock sale. I have improved my record keeping, and now keep the records of the transaction in hanging files in my file cabinet. I used and excel spread sheet to calculate the cost basis. But I also thought I could get Quicken, and keep track of the my purchases, and thinking it might also give me things like annual return, and allow me to track my other stocks better. I got the program on eBay f or $16 plus $5 shipping. I still need to look at getting a better backup mechanism for my computer. Either burn the stuff to DVD-Rs or maybe an external hard drive.
