The market tanked pretty well today. I got another disbursement from my Mom’s thrift plan (#2 of 50 some). Most of it will be going to the IRS and New York state as an advance payment for our 2005 taxes. The total payment was $1422, but only about $1100 is going to taxes. So I decided to invest $250 today. I debated what to buy, and decided on Target (TGT). I put in an order for $250 of Target, but cancelled it a few minutes later when I changed my mind, and decided to buy Lowes (LOW) instead. Lowes was actually cheaper than when I bought my previous shares, so my cost basis was lowered. Lowes is an alternate way to invest in real estate. If people buy houses, they need hardware stuff!
