I had accumlated a bunch of change at home, and wanted to cash it in. I checked out Coinstar and found they charge 8.9%! Ouch! So if I dumped in $100 worth of change into the machine, I would get back about $91. Coinstar would make a nice profit on giving my money back to me of $9. Seems almost like highway robbery!
I ended up buying some paper coin rolls at the local office supply store. I should see if I can get some free ones at the bank. My wife who manages a Burger King bought the change from me. I ended up with paper money, and it saved her a trip to the bank to buy change for her store. And I didn’t have to have almost 9% of my money skimmed off the top.
