5 comments about Napoleon Hill's Keys to Positive Thinking: 10 Steps to Health, Wealth, and Success.
  1. Napoleon Hill's book Keys to positive thinking is an inspiration. It taught me things that i can implement in my everyday life to enrich my personal and professional life. I have changed my outlook on a lot of subjects. Finding ways to make every situation a positive one makes for a much better outlook on life!

  2. I had to choose a book for a report in college. The book had to be something that would help us in our lives and has to do with the psychology class I am taking. After reaading this book, it was so incredible, that I have used the information in my life and have already seen such a happy change in my own life. It helped me in my business and in my personal relationships. It is set up to do this by following the ten steps to practice for the rest of your life. It is easy reading and it is so easy to get started changing your life also. I highly recommend this book for any person that is interested in improving their relationships through a self-help book. It is all about Positive Menatal Attitude which will come back to you in many good ways. It has for me! Read this book and you have nothing to lose, just many great things to gain. I am very happy now and see the world in a whole different way! Thank You!

  3. This is a great beginner's primer for the full Law Of Success course in a nutshell. And I suggest that you get this book before you get The Law Of Success or even Think And Grow Rich, as an overview of coming attractions of what life can be with Napoleon Hill's grand philosophy.

    Captain Josh.

  4. For those familiar with Napoleon Hill's most famous works, Ritt's retread will be a cheerless disappointment. The principles presented are weighty as would be expected from Napoleon Hill; however the overall book lacks any fresh content or insightful techniques to reaffirm the material.

I am generally not well suited to be such a harsh critique of any material, yet I believe this particular book offers only an uninspired presentation of Napoleon Hill's principles. The quality of this work is what might be expected from a student summarizing the principles rather than a marketable book attached to the Hill legacy. As I doubt Napoleon Hill himself would advocate this particular book, I highly recommend avoiding this and instead finding true inspiration and guidance among Napoleon Hill's original works; works that I credit for significant influence in my life.

I highly urge anyone considering self help books of this nature to read the original works from Napoleon Hill, particular "Think and Grow Rich" found here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R3CYTD5IRGGI9I/ref=cm_cr_rdp_perm

  5. "Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve." ~ Napoleon Hill

Michael J. Ritt worked with Napoleon Hill for almost twenty years. He also has observed the life of W. Clement Stone, a man who lived what Napoleon Hill taught. In the first half of this book there are ten steps that lead you to a more positive life. In the second half Michael J. Ritt shows how the steps work in real life.

Negative thinking can become a bad habit while positive thinking helps you to form new good habits. Perhaps you feel that you are constantly in a battle between being pessimistic and optimistic and you want to gain control of your emotions. While this book is light reading it can help you to change course and also analyze how you are currently thinking.

If you are struggling with negative thoughts and want to gain control of your mind then the tips in this book could be useful to you. If you have ever been accused of being a Pollyanna then this book will feel comfortable and familiar. You may already look for good in negative experiences.

There are a few ideas about visualization but Michael J. Ritt also suggests that you pray for what you want to accomplish. I think this is great advice as it has worked in my life. I'm not as interested in asking the "Universe" for what I want because I've seen better results in praying to God. That doesn't mean you will always get what you want but you can always feel that you got an answer even if the answer is "no."

    ~The Rebecca Review

5 comments about Richest Man in Babylon and The Magic Story.
  1. I really enjoyed reading The Richest Man in Bablyon and found this cd on The Richest Man in Bablyon and The MAGIC Story stimulating and inspiring. Far better than listening to the negative junk like the news and play this while my grandchildren are riding with me. They love it and what a way to start our young ones off to a g reat financial beginning.

  2. I have read The Richest Man in Bablyon many times and I creidit for helping me amass a reasonable amount of wealth that I would not have been able to do otherwise.

Reading is great, but something special happens when you listen to the information. And it certaintly beats listening to the news and hearing about the robberies, rapes, murders etc.

The Magic Story is also inspiring and a powerful story. I highly recommend this program. It's great!

  3. "The Richest Man in Babylon" along with "The Baron Son" by Vicky Therese Davis are two of my favorite financial parables. While one appreciates "The Baron Son" for its depth, one will also appreciate "The Richest Man in Babylon" for its simplicity.

For those that wish understand how to make money work for them, this is a great financial start.

The book's core principles can be summarized into its 7 Cures for a Lean Purse:

    1. Start thy purse to fattening - Save 10 % of your income
    2. Control thy expenditures - Budget effectively so that you may have the coins to pay for expenses and worthwhile desires without spending more than 90% of your earnings
    3. Make thy gold multiply - invest your savings to build a stream of income
    4. Guard thy treasure from loss - Protect yourself from unwise investments and invest only where your money will be safe
    5. Make of thy dwelling a profitable investment - It is recommended that every person own their own home
    6. Insure a future income - Provide in advance for your needs in old age and the protection of your family
    7. Increase thy ability to earn - Through study, become wiser and more skillful so that you will always be in the forefront of progress

Ultimately, this fun guide to financial understanding will show you very simply how to acquire, retain, and grow your earnings. Read it, and learn why millions of others have been inspired to change their spending and investing habits with these ancient secrets of success.

  4. While I still enjoyed listening, it was a little too easy to figure out where the story was leading. But, for someone looking for a little enlightenment it is still a good buy.

  5. Received this cd and expected to hear the full edition of the richest man. In fact this is an abridged version which is ok but I was a little disapointed. I had not heard the magic story before but found it interesting but a little frustrating as it takes a while to get to the made story.

  1. This audio CD is great for people looking to understand how to increase their value as a money maker in today's society. The principles are great I've already started to develop a new way of thinking, it's really teaching you how to be aware of how easy it is to get ahead in life. Plus it's convenient, I just pop it in the CD player an listen, but the trick is to listen to it consistently if you want change to come your way.

  2. Where do I start with these books? Classic! Timeless! Must read! I sound like I'm writing copy for a blockbuster best seller. These books are the basis for many of the wealth and abundance work that we see today. Look at all the new material and then compare with these and you will see that the new ones have been updated in language and example, but the truths remain the same.
I believe in going to the source of popular material and especially The Science of Getting Rich and Think and Grow Rich are the wonderful. Both are short reads, but the concepts may have you going back over and over to clarify what seems to be amazing assertions. Take the messages seriously and you may seriously change your life and financial situation!

  3. This was an excellent collection of similar material. It helps to have them in one volume to cross reference
or to quote a particular author. The size of the book ( slightly larger than the typical paperback ) was
    also a plus !!
I would highly recommend this collection.

  4. read this one very fully with an open mind. getting rich is easy and needed by all. this is a must have!!!

1 comments about Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill (Paperback 1960).
  1. After finishing "Think and Grow Rich" I have suddenly realized that this simple slogan is the single way of life in a capitalist society. In this book, as the only way of getting rich, the author advocates goal-directed way of life, purposefulness, constant self-perfection, courage, the skill to think and to act, and the other similar traits of character.

Many people came to a conclusion that the wealth, in some extent, depends on a level of education, motivation, self-esteem, and so on. The problem is that not all the people in equal extend incline to the education, to their self-improvement. This is because of the differences of their needs, habits, abilities, capabilities, and so on. Leo Tolstoy in his novel "Resurrection" arose a question of how to improve the level of education within a society: from inside of each individual or from outside? Which came first, the chicken or the egg? Should first the level of education of each and every individual be risen which yields a revolution (dialectic transition of quantity into quality) or the revolution should make the environment to foster the education of every individual?

The traits advocated by Napoleon Hill correspond to the first Leo Tolstoy's way of improving society. If each and every individual will improve, the society will automatically improve. The second way of Leo Tolstoy (create the environment which will foster the education of every individual) is contrary to Napoleon Hill's ideas: "if something is got for free or without big effort, it won't be appreciated, won't be handled with care or you won't trust it". Free education and medical care won't be respected properly by people, regardless how good this education and medical care are. That's why the socialist society will develop slower than capitalist. Marxists knew this and have built the concept of World revolution (to overthrow of capitalism in all countries), and a further idea by Trotsky that it was impossible to build socialism in a single country. Trotsky wrote that the socialist economy is not as efficient as capitalist and without the World revolution the USSR won't be able to overcome its economic underperformance.

Napoleon Hill praises the freedom and opportunities of the capitalist society of the U.S. in particular, which gives, according to Napoleon Hill, boundless opportunities for an individual who is able to think and grow rich.

I also recommend "The Road to Serfdom" by F. A. Hayek in addition to this book. Although "Think and Grow Rich" is a classical self-help book for a general reader while "The Road to Serfdom" is mostly academic, I think that both of them should be read.
