5 comments about You Can Work Your Own Miracles.
  1. --look for something newer, or at least Think and Grow Rich. This book was originally published in '71 but reads like a florid self-help book of the '50s. Extremely religious and heterosexist.

  2. A truly amazing little book. Having experienced it's truths, I highly recommend adding this to your success library. Everyone of Mr. Hill's books add to the insight originally presented in Think and Grow Rich. As Mr. Hill advanced through life, so did his understanding of these principles. Mr. Hill's work has stood the test of time. There is no magic or hype. No infomercials or flashy web sites. Just solid principles that have been proven to work. Read it, enjoy it and use it! Apply these principles to your life and watch the miracles happen!

  3. I suppose everyone has read or heard about Napolean Hill's most famous work--Think and Grow Rich. You can work your own miracles will teach you how the miraculous power that lies within your own personality.

Dr. Hill explains that success belongs to those lucky people who are blessed with successful personalities. With these outstanding human beings, success is a daily miracle, a way of life, a habit.

Businesspeople, preachers, doctors, soldiers, artists---people in every walk of life---are learning to achieve their goals, to overcome all obstacles to their success, to live the live they want...through the miraculous power of the successful personality.

By following the techniques in Dr. Hill's book, you can become one of these people.

  4. Create your own miraacles is an outstanding book that will lay the foundation for your success. This book came out in 1971. The message is timeless.

5 comments about Grow Rich! With Peace of Mind.
  1. Although Think & Grow Rich is the most famous book that Hill wrote, Grow Rich With Peace Of Mind is surely the most under-rated of all of Hill's books.

Grow Rich with Peace of Mind offers information not in Hill's other books and includes discoveries made by Hill after he wrote Think and Grow Rich. Grow Rich with Peace of Mind offers foolproof techniques for achieving power to earn a high income and to enjoy genuine inner peace at the same time.

Grow Rich with Peace of Mind can help you reach your all of your goals and enjoy it.

  2. This book is so amazing. I rarely read a book more than once. I will reread this book and plan to read it again about every two months or so after working on my next fear. I did conquer one of my major fears in life while reading this book. I was on vacation and was in the process of flying back home. To say that I hated landings was an understatement. I use to grip the arm rests white knuckled, legs jammed forward, body pressed back in the seat terrified of the plane landing. While reading this book on the plane I was able to so completely over come my fear of landing that not only did I sit calmly in my seat, but as the pilot of the plane allowed the passengers to listen to all the communication with the ground tower, the tower controller made several mistakes that the pilot had to correct him on and then land the plane. All of this happened and I was completely at peace with what was going on. What I experienced was incredible.

This book is truly life altering. I look forward to finding Mr. Hill on the other side after this life and thanking him for this wonderful book.

  3. This is the best book I have ever read. I wish that I would have read it when I was 15 years old, instead of 50. I would have made many different choices in my life. It teaches one how to think and use the mind. I have bought 7 copies and given them to my closest friends and family. Buy it. ;-)

  4. This is a wonderful work of heart in which the author combines true, upllifting philosophy with practical advice. I get inspiration from rereading it.

  5. Napoleon Hill is the recognized expert on all things success. In this book, Hill reveals how you can grow rich, and keep your mental act together at the same time. Typical of Hill's writing style, the book is easy to read, and features numerous examples from his real life experience. Specifically, this book covers, among many other things:

    Success while being yourself.
    Developing a healthy ego.
    Finding friendship and love.
    Getting the job you want.
    Turning challenges into success.

This book focuses on achieving success through positive relationships and a healthy mental attitude. For more information on achieving financial success, you may want to read "The 17 Principles of Creating Wealth," by Phillip Collinsworth.

5 comments about The Go-Getter ((also includes Think and Grow Rich! by Napoleon Hill)).
  1. If your intent of reading self help books is to discover a resounding message that will resonate in your life, I can certainly recommend The Go Getter. Its directness of message is only matched by its brevity. There is merely a lone principal to be uncovered within this book, but the message is timeless and profound.

This book garnered 4 stars from me because although the message is found among many other self help books, I can only think of a handful that display its portrayal and influence as well as The Go Getter.

  2. Short, to the point, and teaches a lesson. This is the book that termed the phrase go-getter and really shows what it is to be one. The themes and story translate very well to todays era, every high school student should read this book or have it read during graduation.

  3. The Go Getter by Peter B. Kyne was first introduced to me as an audio tape from Robert Allen's "Challenge" seminar in 1987. It was fantastic motivation that I still treasure.
The story of the blue vase has motivated me and encouraged me in business and life to never give up. It has inspired me to accomplish what some consider impossible tasks with the words "it shall be done" ingrained in my mind.
About two years ago, my wife found it on Amazon.com and gave it to me for Christmas. Now I share the book and the tape with my children who I hope find it as valuable as I have.

  4. It's a little book with a lot of inspiration. First published in 1921, Kyne's fable about Mr. Peck illustrates the value of never quitting and completing your goals. While the tale is told simply and without a lot of flowery language, the message itself is entirely worth the hour or so it took me to read. It's only a little over 80 pages long, and the print is large!

  5. I received this book on October 27th, when you said that I would. I appreciate that I got it then. I have read it and it is a very good book and short as I am a slow reader. It is a good book of encouragement as to what a person stives to do in life can be accomplished if we strive hard to do it no matter the obstacles maybe in our way.

4 comments about Think and Grow Rich: Instant Motivator: Instant Motivator.
  1. This is a good CD. I own it and have listened to it a few times. Earl Nightingale gives a clear summary of Think and Grow Rich. To me, Napoleon Hill is the greatest success author/speaker ever and Think and Grow Rich is the single greatest book I have ever read. However, a part of this particular CD feels like an advertisement and could have been skipped. Also, the editorial reviews and the narrator of this CD talk about 13 principles. This could sometimes be the cause of confusion. Hill organized 13 Steps Toward Riches (in Think and Grow Rich) and 17 Principles of Personal Achievement (in his courses and lectures), also referred to as 17 Keys to Success. This CD talks about the 13 Steps in T&GR.
I would recommend this CD to you only after you have heard the 9 CD set that contains twelve hours worth of live lectures in Napoleon Hill's own voice. The set is called Your Right To Be Rich and was recorded in 1954 in Chicago. In this, Napoleon Hill talks about each of his seventeen Principles of Personal Achievement. The set is amazingly inexpensive and well worth the investment in cost, time and effort.
If my review was helpful to you, I request you to select "Yes" so that the rating is improved and more readers will get to read it.

  2. This is a unique book, though written to help become financially independent, the principles may be used to help achieve anything you may want to have in life or want to become.
May start with the short CD (about 45 minutes) on this book read by Earl Nightingale, or 2 hour version read by Joe Slattery.

  3. I have bought Napoleon Hill's book some month ago. I have tried to read it, but for a non native English speaker it is pretty difficult, therefore I gave up. But when I found this audio book I thought to give it a try. I liked the audio book. I liked all the principles and I am thinking to give a try and test them. Some of them look a little bit strange for a European, but as long as a lots of people consider Napoleon Hill like the father of motivational literature, should be something behind. A great note is also the lecture of Earl Nighthingale and also the sound like an old radio show gives you the impression that old good thinking is still valid in these days.

  4. It is a simpler distilled version of the great book that has been around all of our lives. If you've read it, this is a great reminder of what you may have gotten out of the habit of doing. If you've never read Think and Grow Rich, it is a terrific introduction. Nothing fancy or new. A simple, to the point version of a classic self help book that rings as true today as it ever has. And that Earl Nightingale has a hell of a voice.

  1. This is an updated version of the motivational book that has sold all over the world. You can not go wrong purchasing this book. Even if you absorb only 1/3 the contents, you will receive a return on your investment many times over. The author was the inspiration for all of today's motivational guru's like Norman Vincent Peale and Tony Robbins. 5 stars !

  1. This is the greatest book for thought provoking that I have ever read since the Holy Bible. I have been reading the Bible for over 10 years, noting and studying the vast knowledge and information available to those who seek it out. I keep telling people, "Just read the book"!
Napoleon Hill's book has a similiar effect. His study on humans who succeed and why takes you to a new level of insight into positive thinking and helps you grasp insight into the availability of a higher universal intelligence. Wow! It will take all the negativity and procrastinating thoughts and dump them in the trash barrel along with lack of faith in yourself. No educational seminar or college course can pack in this much knowledge if you will "Just read the book"!

  2. i first read this book many years ago and have read other books with a similar content.I have since become a millionaire. The book is not really about money, greed or taking advantage of others.it is about positive thought, being a better person and understanding.

i highly recommend this book as a must read.it stands out above all other books as the godfather.indeed ,it is my belief that all other motivational and success books are based on this one.this is the original.the bible.! Your Magic Power to be Rich!

4 comments about Collected Works of G. K. Chesterton: The Club of Queer Trades : The<BR> Man Who Was Thursday : The Ball and the Cross : The Napoleon of Notting Hill.
  1. G. K. Chesterton was probably the greatest optimist who ever lived. He BELIEVED where most of us give up and become despondent. The three stories in this volume take place in a strange twilight world in which the author, as he says in THURSDAY, makes you want to see the lamppost by the light of the tree rather than vice versa. This, by the way, is his most profound and eccentric book.

In THE MAN WHO WAS THURSDAY, we see an incredible global conspiracy dissipate like swamp gas. (As Calvin Coolidge once said, nine out of ten of the troubles one sees down the road swerve off and disappear before they get to you.) THE BALL AND THE CROSS is about two heretics who appear to fight each other to the bitter end, until they find a worse enemy. And THE CLUB OF QUEER TRADES is a delightful entertainment made up of wonderful shaggy dog stories, much like THE PARADOXES OF MR POND.

If life hasn't been going your way, curl up with this volume -- and you WILL feel better.

  2. The Club of Queer Trades is by far the funniest story I have ever read! I assure you that it will keep you rolling on the floor from the beginning to the end of the story.

  3. The Club of Queer Trades - Not quite like the Father Brown mystery stories but very close. GKC traces the adventures of a club comprised of men and women who invented their own trade. You usually don't understand the trade until the end of the story, and the book never disappoints.

The Man Who Was Thursday - This is probably the most famous of all Chesterton books. The book describes the attempts of a Scotland yard detective to infiltrate a secret anarchist society. The garden party conversations between anarchists are laugh out loud funny. I'm still fascinated by the ending, mainly because I don't understand it.

The Ball and Cross - Chesterton's hilarious story of how an adamant Catholic duels to the death with an ardent atheist is a worthy read. Chesterton systematically critiques popular delusions of educated thinking as the book unfolds. The atheist and the Catholic grow closer together through their duel, and realize that they understand each other better than the other characters understand either of them. Chesterton's wit is second to none and if you liked Pilgrim's Regress by C.S. Lewis, you will love this book.

I've loaned two of these books to friends, and both of them were immediate fans. If you find this collection interesting, try the Napoleon of Notting Hill also by GKC.

  4. The Man Who Was Thursday is one of the coolest titles I've ever heard and I liked the story, but it also let me down. It does not live up to the title, and yet, I remember it pretty vividly. The thing about Chesterton is that he may not have ever had a meaning. I think he wrote things to be bizarre and cool and elementally obsurb, kind of like a nightmare. But there is not meaning in the strange things that happen, neccessarily. The other stories I do not remember at all. I know I read them but they were not that powerful and there aren't any lines or theological threads that will awe you or shock you, so really it fizzles instead of sizzles like Dostoevsky did at times in Brothers Karamazov. The Ball and the Cross is a battle with a saint and the devil. I liked the book but there are a lot of other better reads out there. Stick to Man Who Was Thursday probably and move on with your life.
