- If you're buying this book for a college class, you really have no choice so this review doesn't matter at all. If you're buying it to teach yourself managerial accounting you could do worse, though considering the price you could probably do much better too.

- The book is very concise & well written. It has helped me tremeendously in my Managerial Accounting class, and is very easy to understand.
- This book provides a comprehensive coverage of various aspects of managerial accounting. The reader will appreciate the difference between managerial and financial accounting and is then guided step-by-step into the various facets of managerial accounting relevant to modern organizations.
The book is well written, well presented and has several useful and helpful examples that reinforces the concepts and ideas presented in the book. I found the book to be very practical and easy to read and understand. The book is a useful and handy reference for managers working in various firms including service, retail, manufacturing and non-profit organisations. Among the subjects covered include activity-based costing, target costing, the value chain, customer profitability analysis, job-order costing, budgeting and performance evaluation.
Overall, a useful and helpful book for managers in various organizations, students doing an MBA, studying accounting or business studies at undergraduate or postgraduate level.
- I was assigned this at extension school. It is very thorough and many is the time I had to read passages twice for comprehension. My experience with accounting fundamentals has helped.
- This book was purchase for managerial accounting on Amazon at a cheaper price than the school book store.
- Wow, Buyer beware.
The DVD does NOT come with this book.
The DVD promoted on Roman numeral page v as free with the book does NOT come with the book and CANNOT be obtained.
the good folks at Amazon were blindsided by the publishers.
The publisher blew me off like dandruff on a dark suit when I requested the DVD. I even faxed the page out of the book that boasts about the DVD.
Wow, Buyer beware. You will never get the DVD promoted as free with book.
But if you are willing to pay extra $$$ you might get some secret special on-line help. But hey, wasn't I promised, written in the book, a free DVD?
Oh yeah, well they lied about that. Just cough up more than you paid for the book and they will give you on-line support, promise.
Fool me once.

- My accounting professor was awful and it was this book that saved my grade in the class. It provides very detailed explanations and summaries of each concept it covers throughout the chapter, not just at the end of the section. The accompanying working papers and study guide were also very informative and helpful.
- Best book so far for teahing accounting. This is the book for learning accounting.
- First of all I paid for 2 days express shipping. The book came after 5 days. Then I did not get your guide to an A which is a free pakage that comes with a new book. The point of buying a new book was just because of this pakage.I am not very satisfied with the service.
- hi i bought 2 books from these people for the first time in the past two weeks and i got the book on time and it was in great condition!

- It's a good book, however, I was expecting to see the accouting flow just how I have saw it during my cost accounting experience. Credits to salary wages instead of a labor absortion account just like it workd in reality looks pretty far from reality.
- This is a well written book that provides comprehensive coverage of various aspects of managerial accounting. The author clearly and methodically covers the various topics pertaining to managerial accounting relevant to modern organizations.

- This book is very useful as long as you sign up for the publisher's personal trainer program.
- This book got to me in great time. I got the book in only 3 days and it was in perfect condition.
- This book is not for people who don't know anything about accounting. Yes, it's a good book, but the language used is very high-level and you couldn't understand it if you weren't an accountant. I suggest this book for people who are already accountants or have accounting degrees and want to review for the CPA exam. But for new students who just want accounting for electives or whatnot, like me, it's not a good book. I didn't understand anything I read and because of this book, I have changed my major to something non-business related. Avoid classes that use this book.
- Very good text. Very clear and concise explanations. I think I may keep this one for future reference. I had to subtract one star because of the price however.
- Thank you much. I started taking an accounting class & the book came just in time.

- This book is what I would call an o.k. textbook. It's not horribly hard to sit down & read or understand. On the other hand it's not light reading. There are some areas in later chapters that are not covered as well as I has hoped.
- I HATE that textbook publishers print out a new edition, with basicaly the same problems as the last edition (only the numbers change). However, to be fair, this is a very clear book, has good examples that follow the exercies in the book. Probably one of the better accounting books I have seen. Also has some chapters of introduction to finance. Overall would recommend.
- For this textbook I ordered it because it said that it was the paperback version, not the workbook version. I was given false information when ordering it because it gave me the opportunity to combine the paperback version with the workbook. Then they sent me two workbooks. I was tricked into buying the same book twice by semantics and a glitch in the system.
- Accounting can be a real boring topic but this book really helped make the concepts a bit more easy to understand and it really helped me through my college class.

- The writers of this book present a lot of material; however, they do so in a manner that may cause confusion and a general dislike of the material. Presentation is verbose, often using paragraphs to explain concepts that could be stated in one sentence. While some sidebars present necessary information, many of them are simply advertisements for the publisher's study guide.
- I normally don't post reviews but I just finished up using this book for a class and highly dislike it. I think the reasoning with how they illustrate problems is confusing and terms are mixed up with bold or plain print. My professor even said he did not like this textbook and wished there was a better choice out there. I thought the homework was good but there were some points that it didn't make sense at all. My biggest pet peave had to deal with the Economic Ordering Quantity stuff in chapter 20. I read the chapter twice and still didn't understand the function of EOQ. I eventually found a powerpoint online which explained it. I think this book has potential and obviously the amount of time invested with the supplementary material is amazing. Regardless, I think there still needs to be more work done on this book. Good luck using this book in your class wherever you're forced to use it.
- I took this course on line and this is not the textbook to use. I just want to add that I ended up earning an A, I don't want anyone to think that I am blaming the book for a poor grade. A few of the chapters were very poorly written and the subject matter hard to follow. Some of the problems were so mixed up and time consuming that the time I spent digging out the pertinent information needed to solve the problem, could have been used to learn the material and acquire a better understanding of it as well.
Also the 11th Edition and the 12th edition is the same book, and thus many of the problems were the same except for the referenced dates. It is really a shame that colleges do not do their homework and give the student a break financially ($ 100.00 dollar difference or more.)There is no reason for them to demand the students to purchase a newer version when the older version would have sufficed.
I would strongly recommend to purchase the accompanying STUDENT GUIDE. This was not a requirement, but well worth the money. I will add that it did help me earn that A.
- PRODUCT IN EXCELLENT LIKE NEW CONDITION. ARRIVED VERY QUICKLY AND SELLER RESPONDED TIMELY TO MY INQUIRY.
- This book was on the optional reading for the Graduate Diploma of Marketing for AGSM.
It helped fill in some of the blanks that I had. The Cost accounting solutions manual is an extra (which may be necessary to determine the expected answers.
The website for the 12th edition is still accessible, but slightly shuffled around from what is published in the book (as of August 2008).
Most of the chapters are fairly clear. The extra video online content is interesting. Though, I think an attached CD with all the content would have been much easier.
Though, they do want to charge you more for the online summaries guides, which I did think would be in the Student Solutions manual.

- I really learned a lot from Managerial Accounting. The text is very succinct and helpful, if a little too detailed. There is a wealth of practice problems available, even if you sometimes have to dig through them in order to really get to the helpful review. The book would have benefited from having the answers to the practice problems included, but the review problems at the end of each chapter are super helpful. Finally, the real-life business insights are the best I have ever read in a textbook and really made it enjoyable to read.
- It is a higher level cost-accounting book. It is a detailed book but would be better if it had answer guides in the back for some questions etc.
The book does have elaborate examples before the question section though, which is beneficial.
- Came when it was supposed to, in good condition. No problems. Would use again.
- From the very beginning, I ordered book for my class which was started on July 7. But I didn't receive the book around the date so I had to purchase one. I contact the sender, someone told me that I can get refund after I receive the book. But until now I didn't receive the book (even I receive it,it was too late) and contacted back to sender, who didn't respond to me and didn't refund me payment.
I'm very disappointed about the sender's behavior and I hope the sender can contact me as soon as he/she can to refund me the payment!!!
- Came in right on time. And it was in great condition.
Thx
