- This was a required text for my undergrad macro econ course. We covered almost the entire text and not being much of one for graphs, I wished this book had less of them (it has oodles of them) and instead more applicable references to everyday examples.

- If you're an inspiring investor or seasoned pro; a corporate executive or fresh out of school Mr. Baumohl's "The Secrets of Economic Indicators: Hidden Clues to Future Economic Trends and Investment Opportunities" holds a wealth of information to assist in making good economic decisions.
The book's structure begins with two chapters that provides the reader with a good introduction on how economic indicators help explain the workings of the world economy. Next the various indicators are organized by categories that allows to reader to find the exact information he or she needs. Also, Mr. Baumohl's writing style is accessible to readers without formal economic training.
- This book does a great job of explaining a long list of macro-economic indicators, their application and relative predictive importance. Highly recommended for those who want to understand how economists measure and attempt to forecast the direction of economies around the world.
- Very good book to get an idea about all the economic indicators that can make or break the economy.
- This is an esaly introduction to economic indicators, mainly the american ones. It contains some interesting tips about indicators, like "thumb rules" in some cases. It briefly introduces each of the most important indicators to the US economy (as well to other major economies) and it's effects on the markets. Those interested in detailed information of some indicator will need to go deeper looking for it's original sources.
- Secrets of Economic Indicators is an excellent book on what drives and affects the economy and the markets. From inflation, consumer spending, unemployment, housing, to the Federal Reserve. Each section explains market sensitivity and why. Would not recommend this book for market-timing necessarily but to understand why the markets go up and down. The last 2 chapter have websites for U.S. and International Economic Indicators for further information. Well done.

- I am very disappointed in this text. Am using it at a jr college for intro macro (also using same author for intro micro). The material is presented in a confusing way, often omitting important details, and I find the author's "conversational" tone to be condescending... especially when making references to "those of you who just don't get math" and similar phrases to the student...
I bought and use Mankiw's texts to quickly and accurately learn the material taught in both of my classes, and only refer to Colander's texts to ensure I'm studying the corresponding Mankiw chapters for upcoming exams. I'm easily achieving 100% on graded Aplia assignments and averaging 95% on all exams so far in both classes, thanks to Mankiw's clear, precise, and accurate texts. Meanwhile, my classmates who are using only Colander's texts are really struggling to learn the material needed to be successful in both classes (micro & macro).
I do not understand the popularity of this author - Mankiw's my author of choice to achieve an easy, excellent grade while actually learning the course material.

- I needed the combined version of Case Fair principles of economics 8th edition. I thought this paperback version of macro would be the same with less stuff I didn't need, but the chapters do not match the ones in the hardcover book.
other than that this is the most exciting economics book i have ever read - it is gripping!!!
- This book is very detailed and does a good job in, in several areas, trying to put information in 'layman's terms. Some of the answers to the questions are in the back of the book which is helpful if you are completely stumped on a problem. I'm not a big MacroEcon fan and am really glad my class is over; this book, even with layman's terms, went far beyond into details that made my head hurt. (In a good way, I guess)

- If you are buying this with "Microeconomics", as Amazon suggests, save yourself money and buy the book "Economics" by the same authors instead.
As far as I can tell (I own Economics, thankfully not the separate books) it includes everything in each of the books, but in one book. See my longer review of "Economics" on Amazon.
Instead of spending 2 x $100, the single book is $123.
- Amazon is terrible about taking forever to ship....if you need any book in a hurry don't order from Amazon.
- This is a great product, exactly what I needed for my Economics class. The item was shipped promptly and was in great condition when I received. I have absolutely no complaints regarding this product. Thank you.

- This book arrived in just a week. it was in very good condition, almost new. I am very happy with my purchase!
- I ordered this book because it was SUPPOSED to come with a Myeconlab access code, and the order didnt say that it didnt come with the code, so I assumed that it included the code. I paid $125 for this book which is $3 less than my school book store sells the book AND the code new. Now I have to pay an extra $30 for the access code. PLEASE SAY IF THE BOOK COMES WITH THE CODE OR NOT.
- Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/RO1UU8SLMUCDH This is one of the better textbooks I have
on the subject. One will have to put the
time in but the book does a
good job explaining concepts.
If I may suggest something that
has helped my studies greatly, a little book called
Don't Like to Read, Then Don't, Listen!: How to
Turn Any Type of Text Into Audio Files That Can
Be Read to You!. I know that many students out
there are like me and would rather listen to
material than have to read it themselves. I use
programs like the one that is reading this review
to have my texts read to me. This is a god send
for me. One can get this title on amazon.

- If you're confused about all the different Mankiw Macroeconomics texts floating about out there, lemme set you straight.
The one you see on this page: "Macroeconomics" (ISBN 0716762137) is usually used in 2nd or 3rd year macroeconomics courses in college. This is because the exercises at the end of each chapter can be a little equation-intensive, and some of the exercises, such as the proper derivation of the IS-LM curve, require differentiation. The text of each chapter itself is not so vicious, so a energetic instructor could conceivably use this book in a lower-level course, if you were willing replace the book's exercises with easier ones.
Anyhow, the sixth edition has just come out; this has a blue cover. This replaces the fifth edition, which had an orange cover.
Mankiw is also the author, inter alia, of "Principles of Macroeconomics," the fourth edition of which (ISBN-10: 0324236956) was just released, at least as of my writing. This text is more appropriate for freshman-level, non-major survey courses, or for honors high-school courses, such as AP courses. The exercises at the end of each chapter require only arithmetic and the most rudimentary algebra.
Note that "Macroeconomics" is not just a gratuitous ratcheting up of "Principles of Macroeconomics:" they're two fundamentally different books, arranged differently, and with completely different publishers. There are even massive concepts in "Macroeconomics" (IS-LM model, Solow steady state, the Keynesian consumption function, etc.) which don't warrant a mention in the much more watered-down "Principles of Macroeconomics."
- As an econ student at UC Davis, I have learned to appreciate books that explain concepts concisely and in an easily understandable way. This is one of those few. Chapters are relatively short and are uncluttered with unnecessary examples or tangents. Graphs are labeled with simple explanations that are useful for clarification as well as quick-reference.
I recommend this book to people who want to understand econ without trudging through the swamp of repetition, needless technicality, and headache.
- Prof. Mankiw's book is an excellent text to learn macroeconomics with a solid foundation. It is a step ahead "principles of economics" in mathematical complexity and depth, but it manages to explain concepts succinctly and in a comprehensible way. I would say that it is the current foremost example of macro textbook for someone looking to really understand economics over its most basic notions. The graphs and tables are very useful, while the exercises are a little bit harder...but no pain, no gain.
- Hey! I have been sending e-mail to you(joshuatreebooks.) since last week. Whats wrong with you guys? you guys don't care about after sail? I just wanna return my book!! Hello, new customers, before you buy something from joshuatreebooks, you should check the return policy. they are gonna charge you 15% of the price. But don't worry, They are not even gonna give the chace to you for the RETURN. WHy? they don't read any return requests.
