5 comments about Dancing With Bears: Separating Wall Street from the Bull.
  1. The most important thing in a bear market is to preserve your capital, and Yanis tells you how to do this. I hope to be able to retire rich by following the "Y Process"

  2. Anyone foolish enough to follow this fool's advice deserves whatever happens to them. Just another moving average technical analysis scheme. As such, it is guaranteed to fail.

  3. yes, it seems to be so.... this is just a simple moving average crossover system. the 1st 2 things you learn with technical analysis is 1) how to calculate a moving average, and 2) how a moving average alone is not a good basis for a trading system. later on, you would learn that backtesting always works in the past, but never in the future.

contrary to what is written in the book, THE Y-PROCESS DOES *NOT* LEAD THE MARKET (see p.159). the Risk Index is the difference between the moving average and the current value of the index. the In/Out level IS the moving average.... YOU WOULD BE BETTER OFF READING A BEGINNERS BOOK ON TECHNICAL ANALYSIS. YANIS PLAYS ON THE IGNORANCE OF THE AVERAGE INVESTOR.

  4. I really enjoyed this book. I was fortunate to take a 5 week class on the y-process given by the author. He is very knowledgeable. I first learned about SEFs from this book. I already have been protected by this method to preserve my 401K capital during this recent sell off (2001). I am not in the market now. It is NOT about technical analysis of individual stocks! Buy the book and find out what it really is. The herd of naysayers will make sure that this method will work for the small investor like me for a long time. Thanks.

  5. Dancing With Bears is packed with useful information and tips. This is one of the best resources for marketers to come out in a long time.
