1. As a financial planner, I highly recommend this video for new investors and experienced investors. It explaines in simple terms what mutual funds are, how they work, and the differences between the different mutual funds. It also explains the concept of risk vs reward and also applies degrees of risk to different investments. The video describes something that I haven't seen in any other teaching video--how to control your inherent investment attitude. This could be different than your realistic investment goals. The two narrators are interesting to watch and listen to. The visual aids are simple to follow and summarize the points for the viewer. I have personally used this video in my financial planning business to help educate my clients. Many of my clients have ordered this video for their children to help them understand mutual funds. This video is only one in the six video series published by this company. I have used all of them in my business. The other videos deal with planning to save, understanding and managing your 401K, protection, investments part I, dealing with social security, qualified retirement plans and professionals. This library provides an at-home, private and personal education of saving money, investing money and protecting yourself and your investments. I highly recommend this video for the beginning investor and an excellent review for the more experienced investor.

1. Great review of almost every investment that you can think of. Part II has the rest of the investments. Easy and simple to understand. I highly recommend it.



2. this video covers stocks (different classifications), stock brokers (full service vs discount, how to place an order), treasury securities, corporate and municipal bonds, newsletters, investment clubs (how to set-up), rate of return, annuities and real estate. Lots of info. I recommend it.

1. This video provides a concise overview of the "why's and how-to's" of investing, especially for women, but also emphasizes the IMPORTANCE of investing for all women. Women of all ages, walks of life, marital status, etc. need to know these things so that they can be an active financial partner with a spouse or make good financial decisions for themselves. Economic security and the independence it brings is possible for everybody.



2. When I was put in a position to roll over and manage my own retirement funds, this video helped me learn the various products available and evaluate where my money is going to meet my needs for retirement. I'm not an "Aunt Gladys" but I'm not a finance wizard, either. But now I'm comfortable that my retirement fund will be sufficient when I retire!



3. I have shown this video in a college course in personal finance, at a majority-female university. I believe it is more practical than Suze Orman's 9 Steps to Financial Freedom. Given its efficient format (about half an hour, compared to Suze's 87 minutes), a lot less time is wasted as you apprise yourself of the basics of personal finance. In addition, although the financial topics selected focus on those areas which the video's creators perceived to be weak points especially for women, there is nothing particularly gynecocentric about it. Men who want a quick grounding in the basics will benefit just as much as women and will not be made to feel like outsiders. However, I believe it could have included more information than it does. Some viewers may find that it offers less than they expect. (This is the downside to its short length.) This is not an advanced financial video by any means, so if you already know the basics about mutual funds, retirement planning, and taxes, you will not find it helpful. If, on the other hand, you want a very clear, well illustrated, unintimidating introduction into personal financial planning so that you can talk about the basics without sounding ignorant or pick up one of the popular financial magazines without feeling stupid, this video may be for you. Regarding its richness, I think you could watch it four times before exhausting its utility as a learning aid.
