3 comments about The Teen's Guide to Personal Finance: Basic concepts in personal finance that every teen should know.
- An easy read, giving teens the tools needed for financial success. This book teaches the financial skills that are necessary in life, but that are not taught in school. A MUST READ for all teens, as well as parents of teens. Highly recommended!
- What I wouldn't have given for this book when I was a teenager! Easy to understand, doesn't overpower with terminology that I don't even begin to comprehend. Great book, whose time has definitely come! Finances don't have to be hard to understand or resemble black holes! Good going, fellas! Keep up the good work! The world will thank you one day!
- Short and sweet. Great book for not only kids but even some adults. This is exactly the kind of book our young kids need to help them out in the real world. This should be required course material for all high school kids. If young kids would save a little bit more money at a younger age they would have it a lot easeier later in life. Time is their biggest ally.

5 comments about Securities Operations: A Guide to Trade and Position Management.
- Anything below 5 stars for this book is not fair. This is an excellent reference material, not just a one time read. My regret is that I didn't read it right after it came out.
- Most pathetic book I have ever bought on securities operations. The book is full of tables with little explanation. Very poor presentation. Don't waste your money and time. Better buy 'After the Trade is Made' by David M Weiss.
- A truly worthwhile contribution to the Securities Industry.
We applaud the effort, and believe this book will serve as an invaluable references, and a commendable example of how such matters may be lucidly presented.
- This book is out of date with respect to Securities Operations. Does not covers import topics as Continuous Net Settlement (CNS) or Delivery versus Payment (DvP) in an adequate manner. It felt as though chapter 29 inclusion was the result of trying to address the short comings of the material. This book needs a complete rewrite.
A better book would be "After the Trade is Made" by David Weiss.
- Material presented here is hard to find anywhere else. Author does pretty good job explaining security trading process. My only gripe is that some of the examples are pretty simplistic and many times information is repeated as opposed to being referenced internally within the book.

5 comments about Financial Accounting, with Annual Report.
- I found the Study Guide to be a big help when needing to understand a little more than what the Course book tries to teach you. In the guide, there were examples of problems that are not explained in the Course book. The guide helped me to make better grades on my assignments, better grades than what I was making before I purchased it. I really understand the concept of accounting more in several areas of the business. I would recommend any study guide book, in any subject, to any one!
- Conditions of the book was as described (brand new), super fast delivery, very trustworthy, high value product, great service!! I will definitely order from here again!
- This book is awesome. If you don't understand the accounting terms or what is being said in class, then this book will help you supplement the lectures. I recommend this book for students who have to take accounting more then once. It really helps me understand the material and I do have another exam tomorrow. I am ready to take the test.
- The accounting text, it is - what it is. Some might find it interesting, but it was a required, it was good for what I needed =)
- You don't normally see a seller of a book tell you the book they are selling is not a good book...But I didn't care......It's my text book...it's probably going to be someone else's text book too so even if review is bad.....if people need it...they need to buy it.....
But here is a few things why I said it's bad.
1st. the entire book is mixed up....for example...they teach you what's "consigned goods" in chapter 6. but they ask questions with that term in chapter 5.. basically...they will use the terms in the question that is not yet taught.....
2nd. the book did a bad job sometimes at explaining things......wikipedia does much better jobs at explaining some of the terms than this book....
But anyway....if your text book is this book...you will still need to buy it anyway for the home work.....so good luck. and don't forget wikipedia.
And If you just want to read accouting for fun.....go get another book.....You'll be happy you did....

5 comments about Introduction to Financial Accounting (Charles T Horngren Series in Accounting).
- NYU's Stern School Of Business uses this book and its a well-crafted introduction to financial accounting. While taking accounting at the other New York business school, I deep sixed my assigned accounting book and instead borrowed my wife's. It coverage of topics and pedagogical flow are quite approachable and manageable. Struggling friends begain to purchase it for themselves. An excellent book. An interesting book as well. Case examples and references keep things interesting. Not just dry rules.
- The book arrived early and in great shape - US edition, hardcover, and no surprises.
- I'm CEO of a medium size business and wanted a resource to teach me accounting. This is a great book, with plenty of assignments which fully reinforce the lessons. The only disappointment is that there are no solutions and the publisher only gives them to you if you are a registered teacher.
- Used at Kellogg School for Financial accounting course. This book balances simplicity and complexity of accounting very well. Many real-world examples and tons of exercise problems are provided to reinforce concepts better. I would highly recommend this book to anyone new to Financial accounting.
- Not very recommended for students with no prior accounting background. Doesn't explain all concepts very clearly, just jumps right into it...Great book if you have plenty of experience with accounting!

1 comments about Accounting And Finance for Lawyers in a Nutshell (Nutshell Series).
- After fruitlessly attempting to learn accounting from the truly awful casebook we were using in an "Accounting for Lawyers" class, I bought this book off of Amazon after hearing it made the subject approachable. I've generally been impressed by the quality of West's Nutshell series, and this one is no different. The subjects are arranged in a rational order, the book is edited well, and I understood the material after one read-through. This is a typical nutshell book- no superfluous examples or problem sets that no professor actually assigns, just straightforward doctrine. If you're taking an Accounting for Lawyers class or are a solo practicioner looking to delve into some financial statements without hiring an accountant, this should get you by just fine.

5 comments about Healthcare Finance: An Introduction to Accounting and Financial Management.
- Very good textbook: gives you all the necessary foundations for understanding the financial issues in healthcare.
- This purchase was to help me with my course and go hand in hand with the engimatic book. However, it hit highlights but was not helpful to me in question answers and reviews for test. If you want a book with definiton's to help you , this is a 5 . If you want help with the Gapenski engima , its a 1.
- The problem with this book is it is written too much like a book and not like a textbook. It is nearly impossible to find the equations that are embedded in the text if you are trying to do a quick reference on a concept. In addition, the index is horrible which leaves me constantly googling concepts that I need for the case studies since you can never find them in the book. Also, I'm not really sure how the book distinguishes itself as "health care" there is little to no health care specifics as far as finance goes. In all reality it isn't a great book especially if it is for your first finance class and you're better off looking up academic journals for a the health care finance perspective.
- This book is a waste of time. It includes a bunch of definitions that are not all that well organized and do not explain the concepts in the text book. Save your money. The text book is relatively easy to read and understand. You do not need this and it will not help.
- This book is a complete waste of time. The definitions are not even the same as the one's in the glossary. It skips major points and you need to go hunting to find where it is in the book. You spend more time doing that than if you just took your own notes.

2 comments about Financial And Managerial Accounting.
- With the 14th edition of this book, the use of the website for studying was taken away, to be replaced with a pay for use service of about $20. My professor would have stayed with the 13th edition had he known that they were going to take away this service to the students. No CD or access to a website for answers to the questions. Book is well written, easy to follow, but needs a more comprehensive glossary, since words and phrases within accounting mean different things and can be interpreted differently depending on the user and with accounting following the GAAP rule this becomes even more important. Practice items are well designed. The Layout of the book demands approximately 100 pages a week for a semester course, for a course in oversight of accounting this is rather hefty. Without a CD or other access privileges, I don't see a need to order this as a new item, go for used!
- as good as I imagined, and i wish i could have more chances to purchase textbooks like this~
