- The book doesn't provide the students solution manual, the mentor solution manual is not accessible to students, the book problems does not supported by the text book. The book indexing is not answering many text book words. Hard to learn anything from the book.

- What a tremendous book! Very inspirational and helpful with collections with tips and pointers and such positive energy in what is sometimes a negative field. Highly recommended to anyone in collections in ANY business!
- This book is a quick read, but if you've done collections before, then you won't find much help in it. The author is well-expereinced in legal collections. That's her expertise. A consumer and corporate small to medium balance collector won't find this book that useful. It gives a lot of legal tips and how to write promissory notes, but for the majority of us who don't have time for this, it doesnt' tell us anything we don't already know. She has a debtor excuse section, but she writes it more in theory than someone who has done it a lot. She also doesn't tell us anything new to use in our repetoire of overcoming, "check is in the mail." I wouldn't rate this a great book, I find Tim Paulsen & The Sher brothers' books better and more practical. I'd rate her book "fair."
- I thought this book dealt with legal collections more than anything else. I think it would be helpful to any business owner hoping to jump start their collections or accounts receivable department. It is an easy read and has some helpful information for any business owner or credit professional.

- I used this book for my Financial Accounting I course I took this past Spring working towards my Bachelors degree. This was in the first accounting course and I really didn't know too much about accounting beforehand. While the book overall is a good text and full of helpful information and examples, the first chapter or two were totally useless because they approached accounting pragmatically and tried to cover too many fundamentals too soon. Accounting is not an easy subject and theres no easy way to get started with it. However, my professor (who had used the book before) skipped over the first couple chapters and taught us the fundamentals using her own method which did work very well and then the rest of the book made more sense. At times it seems the book might cover a topic or circumstance in only one or two sentences and then will have a problem or two that deal more extensively with that short concept. The only reason I could think they did this was to stimulate creativity and learning and force the student to figure out how to mold the various principles to fit a particular "new" situation rather than just have you memorize some rules. Some might not like this method...
- I started out with practically no knowledge of accounting - this book did a very impressive job of introducing me to the various concepts. I can now read and understand the financial statements put out by the companies. Our professor used this book very extensively - he would talk about a topic and then point out the page numbers where the authors had written about that topic.
This is a pretty good reference too - I have refered to the book many times when I see certain accounting terms used in the press. The authors have kept the explanation very concise and have inserted examples that capture the essence of the explanation. I found the book to be very expensive though.
- This is an excellent introductory textbook.
- It wouldn't take too long to get this book. And the book was packed in suitable package no any damage. A plus for you :-)
- Great and informative text, easily understandable written language with diagrams provided and examples for each new method and aspect of accounting. Short review at the end of each chapter including vocabulary, chapter summary, short exercises and much more. I recommend this text for anyone interested in accounting.

- This book is the most horrible book I have ever tried to study out of. I took Accounting twice, both times I concentrated the entire semester on just studying this book and accounting and I still have trouble with the subject of accounting. The videos were no help at all, just a talking head with power point slides, and whoever they used for the talking head guy put me to sleep every time I listened to him.
- This book sucks. I payed $133 for it at my bookstore and it has no binding for it. On top of that the text of the book and example problems is horrid and confusing to follow. To any teachers looking to use this book, KEEP ON LOOKING. IT SUCKS!!!!
- This book has excellent examples and illustrations in each chapter. There are many problems and exercises that are very helpful in learning each chapter. One thing I would change is having the solutions to exercises in the book.

- I bought the 2007 version and was completly unsatisfied. The book reprinted the learning objective statements that are already in the CFA curriculm and called it an outline. There were a few poorly written questions for each section. The questions were much to simple to actually help prepare for the CFA Exam. When I went to the website to download the "free questions" they were not available. Horrible product. Do not waste your money.

- This publication provides a thorough and comprehensive review of almost every important aspect of accounting, financial analytics and reporting. A useful tool for a person new to finance or someone needing a refresh or review of important topics. A solutions manual would have been helpful, but the book is a valuable buy nonetheless.
- This book has many characteristics that I really dislike to see in a textbook.
First, the authors flooded almost every page with extraneous information. When you're learning this stuff, you want it to be explained simply and clearly - but the authors seem more intent on showing you how much they know about some topic, even when that information is tangenital and not very helpful.
They don't word things clearly. They'll call the same thing by two different names - (i.e. "Pension Cost" and "Pension Expense") which needlessly adds to the confusion. They'll discuss some topic for several pages without even writing down the basic, relevant journal entry.
One of the wordiest, most poorly written accounting books I have ever had the displeasure of studying from.
- Recent Accounting knowledge is a plus when reading this book. A few examples of problem solving would be nice. An answer key to the exercises in each chapter would be helpful too.
You will want a fresh mind & coffee when reading this book!
- I ordered expidited shipping for my product to get it sooner than the regular shipping. They happily charged me for expidited shipping, then turned around and sent the book via media mail. Also, the item diescription for my book said it was highlighted by a student that got a B+ in the course. I have yet to find any hightlighted areas in the book. When I contacted the seller via email to inquire, they cam back at me angry claiming that I was trying to threaten them. This was a poor experience at best. I will never shop with this Seller agian.
- Book Arrived on time and in the condition that was presented. Very satisified with the product.

- Amazon had the best price for this book overall. I'm an online student and would have to order my books from the College Campus Bookstore. Their price was originally cheaper but only for a used book. However, with shipping and handling their price came out to be more than Amazon's new book price. Besides, Amazon offers the study guide too.
- I originally bought this product for a class, but the instructor rarely used it because he didn't like it that much. I had a difficult time understanding what this book was communicating because it was written in such a way that it isn't very easy to understand.

4 comments about CFA Fundamentals.
- This book offers a quick trip to the field. It is very reader friendly.
Great starter book.
- This book is great if you are a beginner and have few knowledge in the CFA programm it covers alot of basic materials, but its not enough to pass the CFA exam you should go beyond the basics to pass the exam
- This is an excellent review for anyone to start preparing for CFA Exam. It works with the study materials by Schweser. It is a quick review for fundamentals of CFA Level 1 examination. The test questions at the end of each section provide a very good test on the understanding of the section. I highly recommend this.
- It may be good for beginners to understand the concepts, but it is a waste of your money if you are taking the exam for 2008. Although some may consider not a big deal, one disturbing thing I found was that the formulas use a different notations/symbols/terminology than what you will find in CFA Institute books. So you are likely to go back and forth between notations and get confused. It is better to stick to CFA Institute notations as questions in the exam will use the terminology from their book.
You will also be surprised to know that this book does not cover 2008 CFA Learning Objectives.
