5 comments about Trump: The Way to the Top: The Best Business Advice I Ever Received.
- Not really an easy read. A lot of antidotal comments, and just a collection of valuable advice given by hundreds of powerful CEOs and other successful people. More of a reference book than anything.
-
249 pages of quotes, I bought the book online, save your money.
There are 100 better books to read, this is padding to The Donald's wallet.
- The key word is "some". Most of the advice is commonsense or if you don't have any, I take it back. This book is just a compilation of advice from successful business contacts of Trump. Trump doesn't really offer any advice except a few lines in the introduction.
- I read the book he co-authored with Robert Kiyosaki "Why we want you to be rich" and I liked it! So I decided to read some more of Trump, but without flicking through this book as I was catching a plane to Korea. I was disappointed as it is just a bunch of affirmations really. Sure.. good advice
from people who know how to get things done. But I was hoping to get more insights into investing.
- Disappointing only when compared to his other books. Not really pearls from Donald Trump himself, but rather it is advice from a number of other successfull people compiled into a "coffee table" format. That aside, most of the advice was helpful, but much was repetitious. But then most achievers have the same traits, don't they? It's just that Mr. Trump has all of these (which he onlys mentions once), and then so many more.
The "so many more" are revealed in his other books like "How to get Rich" and "Think Like a Billionaire". One interesting aspect of his writing is how he matures from "The Art of the Deal" forward. He readily acknowledges his mistakes and explains how he has learned from them. What always shines through is his indefatigable spirit of not ever giving up no matter how tough the going gets.

5 comments about Trump: The Art of the Comeback.
- Like all the Trump books this one captures a moment in the life of "The Donald". Trump's bad habit of erroneously naming his books with 'how to' titles makes no exception here as The Art of the Comeback contains no instructional material. The book begins with Trump taking shots at some of his rivals, whom he feels betrayed. The book puts Donald back in the drivers seat, officially letting everyone know 'The Donald' has return and is richer and more powerful than ever! Flaming aside Donald briefly talks about his divorce with Ivana, and I mean briefly, there is no indication as to why Donald thinks the relationship collapsed, expect for a few nonscientific remarks. Anyone interested in the life of New York City's real estate tycoon would identify with this book, those looking for actual advice on making a financial comeback are better set skipping this one.
- All you haters out ther hating DOnald trump because he is succesful and that is fine and dandy, calling him an "overgrown boy" when you can't even talk or type properly. I am getting sick and tired of all these small time smack talkers criticizing Donald Trump for being succesful, while having pride, and living the American Dream being that his grandfather was a German immigrant and has built an empire in 3 generations, more than most people have been in here for way longer. He is living the billionaire experience having style and beautiful women and everything. Take it or leave it. ROFLCakes. Many of you haven't gotten that he is writing from experience and so he tells us what he has gone through to be where he is at today. This Book can literaly change your life as it did mine. It is inspiring don't listen to these jealouse fools, buy and read this book you will not be dissapointed.
- In characteristic blunt style, Donald Trump describes how he made his astounding financial comeback during the severe downturn in the early-1990s real estate market. In a few short years, Trump went from being three-quarters of a billion dollars in debt to having a net worth of over $2 billion. This fast-reading book provides a fascinating look at this highly controversial, intelligent, and complex man.
Much of the book is full of name-dropping and self-pats on the back, but, hey, "The Donald" has a lot to brag about. Trump describes how he bought and improved many of New York's greatest landmarks, such as the Emprire State Building, Wollman Skating Rink, and 40 Wall Street.
Trump is coarse and sensitive; vicious toward betrayers and generous to loyalists; egotistical and self-critical. He uses four-letter words to describe his enemies, yet is magnanimous enough to make peace with rival Merv Griffin. He describes his nasty divorce with Ivana, but has mostly good things to say about her. Perhaps The Donald's most candid admission is that the breakup of his marriage to Marla was probably his fault.
This book isn't for everyone. Trump, the quintessential builder, finds "a crane on every block" a thing of beauty. He also seems to find humor in Mike Tyson's biting of Evander Holyfield's ear during that infamous heavyweight title fight.
Trump is understandably reticent about his daily life during the tough times of the early '90s, but that would have been more interesting material than the mundane schedule he describes.
Yet, overall, The Art of the Comeback is a straight-shooting autobiography providing insight into the mind of the greatest real estate titan of our time.
- Most books written by Trump sound like an old broken record. But that can be said of many book sequels. Basically reading one by the author is more or less reading the others. This book is somewhat unique because it talks of Trump in trouble, in a recession, and how he was able to stand tough and come back. These are lessons that are very useful to everyone since we live in a world when tough times come and go and it is probably during these tough times that will separate the men from the boys.
- I find Donald Trump fascinating as he is among the most successful and prominent people in the real estate industry. For his third book, Trump presents an update on what has taken place since the real estate crash in the early 1990's, complete with his near bankruptcy, divorce with Ivana, and his financial turn around bringing him back to billionaire status.
For those seeking the excitement found in his first book, the Art of the Deal (a book which I rated very high) you will find yourself dissatisfied. The Art of the Comeback offers some interesting insight behind the scenes of Trump's life, which will be of interest to any Trump enthusiast; however, it lacks the excitement of his building his empire.
There is a limiting measure of thrill stemming from discovering how Trump acquires properties having already possessed the needed financial abilities, as with his detailing of the acquisition of the Mar-A-Lago. While the property itself might provide some content of curiosity, this pales in comparison to his earlier work in which he divulges the difficulties with finding financing, establishing air rights, negotiating with city officials and adjacent property owners; all tasks required for Trump to bring his deals into fruition. The Art of the Comeback, although discussing some of his recent acquisitions, is sorely missing the excitement contained in his drive to the top (the exception being his chapter on Trump International).
Donald includes a chapter on personal investment which should have either been given much more attention or left out of the book entirely. Donald discusses knowing the right people, broadly investing in the stock market, and for those less inclined to deal making, to invest in REIT's to gain some of the benefits of real estate investing. This advice is thin for even the average writer; yet such guidance coming from a billionaire makes one wonder if Donald truly struggles to convey his financial aptitude or if he merely presented a meager effort to add this chapter to the book.
The Art of the Comeback will assist those seeking to learn more about Trump and his life in the 90's; however, the only benefit this book offers over reading all this same information from Wikipedia or any other source is hearing it from Donald's point of view, as his financial and life advice is paltry at best.

5 comments about The America We Deserve.
- It's about time a guy like Donald Trump published this book. Whether you love him, hate him, or want him to fix his hair, The Donald presents fresh takes on age-old arguments and explains why he has what it takes.
While every other candidate in 2000 was writing books about their youths, military service, or whatever else, Trump uses his get-down-to-business style to attack issues (and people) and offer quick-witted solutions. The fact that I disagree on a few points does not take away from the quality of the book. If you want a straight-shooting tome from a guy who takes care of things himself, The America We Deserve is a must-read.
- I think most anyone would agree with Mr. Trump that the America he describes within this book would be an ideal nation. The problem is, Donald Trump does not know anymore than anyone else about how to achieve the problems he very practically identifies. The math of what's lacking in this book could be described with an equation like this: A+X=C. A is where we are today in the America we have, C is the "America we deserve" now what is X that would get us to C? I have no idea. I wish someone knew.
But as far as Trump's observations go, he is frequently correct and in his "idealistic pragmatism" he has an observant eye when it comes to citing certain less than ideal, even intolerable, situations.
I liked Trump's comment that money is not the key to fixing America's education system. He demonstrated how in real dollars we spend more on education these days than in the recent past and yet see less achievement in return. His biting, dead-on observation that the teachers' union's position that salary increases for classroom instructors would elevate teachers' performances is akin to them saying, "Bribe us more and we'll agree to put more effort into the job we're already taking money to try our hardest at now."
VERY good point!
Trump was also correct in this 1999 book in foreseeing another terrorist attack on New York City that would make the 1993 World Trade Center attack seem minor. That predicition came tragically true on September 11, 2001. His warnings to prepare for further attacks are more true in 2005 than they were in the Clinton Years. As I'm writing this, Hurricane Katrina is in the headlines and the lack of coordinated management in helping its victims shows how unprepared this mighty nation truly is for disasters of a monumental scale. I'm sure our ever-patient foes are learning from this and I hope we Americans are as well.
But lest I come across as doling out more praise to Donald Trump than his book, sound though it is, merits, I have to come around to the fact that Trump's critial troubleshooting does not contain enough suggestions of how to improve the things he says are wrong. He's a smart man, not without faults, but he understands how business operates and I wish he had provided more insights in this book into how we can reach the hypothetical point C that would be the United States he takes delight in describing in his writings.
- I had heard such great things about this book that I had to read it. I was about 7 years too late, but I still think the book is good and worth reading. My only debate was Trump's weak argument to correct the school system. He really didn't have a plan to correct it other than stop feeding more money into the system. Other than that one area, the book was very appealing. I think his idea of having our country run the way a successful business CEO operates is worth a shot.
The best idea in the book is Trump's plan to impose a one time 14.25% tax on individuals whose net worth exceeds $10 million, which is a mere 1% of our population. This tax money would be used to pay off our national debt and restore the social security program. I know this tax would probably not be able to pay off our national debt today, but this is the kind of idea that would only evolve from the CEO of a company that has goals to meet in terms of the overall bottom line of their company's annual performance. Ideas of taxation on the richest individuals in America are far better than creating additional debt for our country, so that's why I agree with Trump that someone with a great business mind should run for President.
Another interesting chapter in the book was his prediction of another terrorist attack that would make a previous one in New York look feeble. A lot of the chapter mentioned the bioterrorism that we would encounter (i.e. anthrax), and I actually had to check the copyright on this book when I read this chapter.
I do recommend reading this book, but be aware that it's a bit outdated. The plans for national debt, social security, freedom from terrorists are outstanding. It makes you wonder how things might have turned out different for America had Trump run for President.
- I wasn't sure what to expect, but I can say I was very surprised, captivated and motivated into action after reading this book. With the many different sides of Donald Trump in the public eye, this side may be one you have never seen nor heard completely. This isn't a book about The Donald, this is a book about The America We Deserve and should be living in today. A must read for everyone who believes that things aren't going the way they should be and looking for something actionable to do about it.
- One the regular of trump. No doubt an excellent reading. His reviews on the present american system seems one sided. However its definately worth reading once to get into the mind of the great trummmmmmpppppp

5 comments about Trump: How to Get Rich.
- I truly enjoyed Donald Trump's views on "how to get rich" - after all, his success is great proof!!
- Get the message readers! Those who became wealthy from smart things they did became wealthy because THEY DID WHAT THEY DID!
All you have to do is read, study, and copy what they did, and you too will become wealthy!
It amazes me how people just don't get it. You just want to get your paycheck and stay in your little box.
PLEASE do yourself a favor and get "set free" from your "fear factor" and go out and buy, read, and follow Donald Trump and what he did to become wealthy. If you hang around the right people, or read enough of books written by successful people, then IT WILL rub off on you.
Donald Trump
Russ Whitney, (Building Wealth)
Robert T. Kiyosaki (Rich Dad Poor Dad)
And PLEASE don't let negative people stop you from success.
- I was deceived by the title of this book. The first four parts are somewhat interesting. The later half was more about Trump, his family, his weekly routine etc., (Hmmm... Who wants to know all these?!)
If you are looking for some good tips to get rich, don't waste your time in reading this book.
- Trump is one of my guilty pleasures. He's so full of himself that it seems contagious.
The Art of the Deal is his best piece, by far. The trouble is, the man is almost a living cartoon character with his larger-than-life means, attitude, and hairdo. Because of his comic book-like nature, I find myself curious about the further exploits of the man I met in Art of the Deal.
I'd give it more stars, but this particular episode of Trump isn't quite worth a full 4. I would recommend his other one, The Art of the Comeback. Killer book with his killer attitude after near bankruptcy. Hope this helps...hehehe...
- I was not very impressed on what I found in this book. I read very little new information regarding success and leadership. In fact, some of it I severely disagreed with. I do not view all people as either winners or losers, like The Donald does. There is far more gray than that. Mr. Trump has a lot to be proud of, but i see him as being far to prideful. With his bankruptcy in the 90s you would think he would be more humble now. The book came across as matter-of-fact like. Rather than him just saying what works for him he states his points of view like they're the only way to be successful. One chapter he talks about the need to hold grudges yet he didn't state why or even how it has helped him in his career. Also, I really didn't like that he stated it's foolish for "anyone" to not ask for a prenuptual agreement prior to getting married. I'm sure he has his reasons, but prenups aren't for everyone. I'm pretty sure that holding grudges is not the way to win friends, influence people, and to be successful. I think lot of what he is able to do now is only because of who he is now. He should right a book on how he became successful rather than all his little pet peeves he has now that he is rich and famous.
This book does share some good tips and insights that you need to be a leader, but if he were not who he was this book would be far more criticized. Other very successful people have written books on leadership and prosperity, stating views that contradict what Mr. Trump states. I think Mr. Trump has a lot to offer, but that he could be far more effective if he humbled himself and cared more for people who aren't as bright or who makes mistakes, writing them all off as losers. No one or two mistakes is enough to justify calling someone a loser.

3 comments about Think and Grow Rich.
- After finishing "Think and Grow Rich" I have suddenly realized that this simple slogan is the single way of life in a capitalist society. In this book, as the only way of getting rich, the author advocates goal-directed way of life, purposefulness, constant self-perfection, courage, the skill to think and to act, and the other similar traits of character.
Many people came to a conclusion that the wealth, in some extent, depends on a level of education, motivation, self-esteem, and so on. The problem is that not all the people in equal extend incline to the education, to their self-improvement. This is because of the differences of their needs, habits, abilities, capabilities, and so on. Leo Tolstoy in his novel "Resurrection" arose a question of how to improve the level of education within a society: from inside of each individual or from outside? Which came first, the chicken or the egg? Should first the level of education of each and every individual be risen which yields a revolution (dialectic transition of quantity into quality) or the revolution should make the environment to foster the education of every individual?
The traits advocated by Napoleon Hill correspond to the first Leo Tolstoy's way of improving society. If each and every individual will improve, the society will automatically improve. The second way of Leo Tolstoy (create the environment which will foster the education of every individual) is contrary to Napoleon Hill's ideas: "if something is got for free or without big effort, it won't be appreciated, won't be handled with care or you won't trust it". Free education and medical care won't be respected properly by people, regardless how good this education and medical care are. That's why the socialist society will develop slower than capitalist. Marxists knew this and have built the concept of World revolution (to overthrow of capitalism in all countries), and a further idea by Trotsky that it was impossible to build socialism in a single country. Trotsky wrote that the socialist economy is not as efficient as capitalist and without the World revolution the USSR won't be able to overcome its economic underperformance.
Napoleon Hill praises the freedom and opportunities of the capitalist society of the U.S. in particular, which gives, according to Napoleon Hill, boundless opportunities for an individual who is able to think and grow rich.
I also recommend "The Road to Serfdom" by F. A. Hayek in addition to this book. Although "Think and Grow Rich" is a classical self-help book for a general reader while "The Road to Serfdom" is mostly academic, I think that both of them should be read.
- This is the original classic personal-growth and wealth-building book that all the self-help "Guru"s have been copying and imitating. Buy this and learn from the original. Buy this and learn the classic techniques the new-age thinking was built on, and that the "New-Wage" hucksters imitate without crediting it.
- A little dated but his kind of information is timeless. Positive thinking to the max. Wonderful, simple book that sets forth basic principles for living a prosperous, healthly life.

- If you love real estate and beautiful homes, you'll love this book. Magnificent photography with equally fascinating history and intrigue behind the featured properties.
-
This is indeed a beautiful book! And it's much more than just an elegant coffee-table-book (like so many other books of that kind): of course, one may simply enjoy being taken away on a journey through many different styles and tastes all over the globe (each of 20 featured properties is really different in style), but what makes this book stand out from the rest is the insider's insight "behind the scenes" regarding the development of important luxury real estate markets and their founders - I discovered many entertaining "gossipy" anecdotes I had barely heard about before and that I enjoyed very much! What I appreciate most is to finally have a professional guide that thoughtfully spells out the Do's & Don'ts of "How to Buy Luxury Real Estate"! I find that this is really the perfect mixture covering all possible aspects of luxury living which has not existed in this form so far! Makes a great gift!

5 comments about Trump: Think Like a Billionaire: Everything You Need to Know About Success, Real Estate, and Life.
- This is one book I could not put down once I started reading it. With Mr. Trump's decades of experience and knowledge gained throughout today's aggressive world of business, his distinguishing insights are compacted into this brief and tiny work, projecting both his shrewd business smarts along with a non-negotiable 'mental toughness' that every successful business person should be learning from... and who better to be learning from than from 'the Donald.' I recommend this book to anyone who's interested in developing a deeper level of entrepreneurial insight within the world of business and real estate, as well as the financial IQ of, well, ... a billionaire. The diamonds are buried throughout this book, and must be sought after with one's trusty ... yellow highlighter. A must read for anyone who's set on becoming a more perceptive business investor / real estate professional / aspiring entrepreneur.
- Think like a billionaire. Not that hard to do when you are one. More difficult for the average reader I guess. But hey, aim your arrow at the moon and you'll hit the mountain. I'll settle for a million or ten.
Most of the reader reviews find this book a one-star crap thing. I strongly disagree, because you should know by know The Donald will not take you by the hand and let you make your first million.
You want good advice? Better get his first book "The Art of the Deal" which teaches you some. But thinking like a billionaire is just like writing like a billionaire; he probably had two minutes to dictate per chapter.
Despite all this, it was fun to read. What goes on in a billionaire's life and it just make you dream about being succesful as well, as long if you're not succesful already. Fun to read, crap advise. Four stars.
- Complete waste of time and money. I wish I'd never bought it, save yourself the mistake.
- If your looking for a book about a guy that's full of himself, this is it. If your looking for a book about finance, real estate and making money, this isn't it! Plus, he adds a section about The Apprentice at the end, it really didn't help me out one bit. I was really disappointed in this book, wasn't at all what I thought it would be.
- Trump provided one amazing book (The Art of the Deal) and since then has given us one dreadful ego stoking book after another. Think Like a Billionaire provides Trump's thoughts on topics such as:
- How to Rent an Apartment
- How to Read a Classified Ad
- How to Landscape
- How to Pinch Pennies
- How to Balance Work and Romance
- The best Shirts and Antiques
- How to Be Married (ironic chapter of the decade)
If this is the variety of information you are seeking from the mind of Donald Trump then I suppose you will find some value. Otherwise, this book reads like random notes on cocktail napkins that someone found on Trump's desk.

5 comments about Trump 101: The Way to Success.
- After reading the whole book I just have three points:
1. Learn to think big, set high standards and get earn big.
2. Learn to read between Lines, Mr Trump let us know a lot of secrets and if you read carefully you can really can get the best of book.
3. Ivanka is beautiful and talented.
- Passion is your trump. Aim high. Be persistant and courageous. Balance knowledge with experience. Think realistic but be persistantly positive. find your niche. find common ground with your allies. Be a brave pioneer but not a stupid one. work for passion not money. This is just one fourth of Trump's wise and balanced maxims along with commentary. Its worth checking out.
- While The Apprentice TV show could make Trump seem trivial since he participated in so many childish arguments in "the boardroom" this book is the opposite. The book is hard to describe... maybe this does it:
It suggests what you might call a "personal approach" to business, converting core business issues into internalized personal decisions rather than external theories. Subjects like "business momentum", "learn by taking risks", etc., though simple, are considered as personal decisions to make rather than as dry business subjects. It is a simple yet complete book on core business & life issues that every business person must face head-on at some point. It is also very encouraging. A+
The ghost writer, Meredith McIver, is the best I've ever read and I've read a lot of them. Most of these type books are boring long discourses on various subjects but not Trump 101. Each chapter gets right to the point, is only a few pages long, wastes no time, and is clearly explained. You can read it all and not feel that the subject is being hacked to death. No filler here. Probably the ultimate example of quick to the point information that I've ever read yet complete enough to make complete sense. A+
- Trump 101: The Way to Success is a quick book to read, and worth the time it takes to learn the simple but direct lessons Donald Trump and Meredith McIver included in this little gem.
Just because the chapters are short, does not mean they don't contain some valuable advice. Some of it seems to be common sense to many people, but then we must remember that sometimes common sense is not as common as we would like. A short reminder of certain principles or strategies for success can be motivating and the prompting needed to get up and succeed.
One criticism some may have with this book is the promoting of Trump University. I actually believe this is a hidden lesson one can learn. Right up front in the introduction Trump states that a purpose of the book is to introduce the reader to Trump University, so you should not be surprised that there are plugs for Trump University programs. One thing Donald Trump does phenomenally is promote. He promotes himself, his businesses, and other businesses, products and causes that he believes in like no other. This is an important lesson!
Regarding the chapters and the lessons Donald Trump shares in this book, they are all simple and direct, but very important. Following all or some of the advice in this book will doubt help a person increase their levels of success. These chapter lessons include:
1. Don't Waste Your Life On Work You Don't Love: Passion Will Help You Do Better.
2. Set the Bar High: Make People OOH and AAH.
3. Think Trump Scale: Bigger is Better
4. Tough It Out: Be Persistent
5. Without Knowledge, You Don't Stand A Chance: Gain and Use Information To Your Advantage
6. You're Fired! Words No One Wants to Hear - Or Say
7. The Proof Is In The Doing: Learn By Doing and Taking Risks
8. Your Gut Is Your Best Advisor: Listen To Your Instincts
9. Personalize Your Pitch: Know Who You're Addressing
10. Surround Yourself With Beauty: Enhance Every Aspect Of Your Life
11. Negotiate to Win: Use Diplomacy
12. Think On Your Feet: It's The Fast Track To Success
13. Work With People You Like: It Sure Beats Working With Enemies
14. Where There's A Will, There's A Win: Think Positively
15. Swim Against The Tide: The Comfort Zone Can Pull You Under
16. Money Is Not Always The Bottom Line: It Can Be a Scorecard, Not the Final Score
17. Learning Is Exciting: Each New Project Is An Adventure
18. See the Whole Picture: But Be Prepared For the Picture to Change
19. Wait For the Right Pitch: Business Success Is All About Patience and Timing
20. Avoid Fixed Patterns: Be Open and Flexible
21. Speed Kills - The Competition: Get Right To The Point
22. Do More - Always Do More: Constantly Try To Top Yourself
23. Leaders Set The Pace: Find Your Working Tempo
24. Results Matter More Than Routes: Let People Follow Their Own Paths
25. Approach Your Work As An Art Form: Work Brilliantly
26. Keep Your Mind In The Game: Pay Attention and Stay Focused
27. It Takes Courage To Persist: Business Pressures Never Stop
28. Join The Explorers' Club: Learn About the Mysteries of Life
29. Confidence Is a Magnet: It Will Draw People To You
30. Keep Your Momentum Rolling: But Never Lose Control
31. Is the Problem a Blip or a Catastrophe? Expect Problems and Keep Moving Forward
32. Reach Within To Rise Above: But Temper Your Reach With Reality
33. Concentrate on the Target, Not on the Weapon: Focus On What Matters Most
It is pretty obvious with the chapter titles as to what the lessons of each chapter are. And as I stated, the chapters are short and quick to read, but they do contain pearls of wisdom. I found the book very easy to read and enjoyable as Trump illustrated the lessons with his own personal experiences.
Trump also included sections on a week of his life, as he has done in other books. I enjoyed reading these as well, and the week he included was the week his son was born, so you know it was a special week for The Donald.
Overall, I recommend this book as a quick, easy, motivational read with some direct and practical advice on success. If you do more than just read the book, that is follow some of the advice that is given, you will increase the successes of your life.
Reviewed by Alain Burrese, author of Hard-Won Wisdom From the School of Hard Knocks and the dvds: Hapkido Hoshinsul, Streetfighting Essentials, Hapkido Cane, and the Lock On Joint Locking Essentials series. Alain Also wrote a series of articles called Lessons From The Apprentice.
- I love Trump. He just doesn't apologise for who he is and what he does. He has recovered from very bad times, and just keeps inspiring. He is also passionate about education and Trump University offers some brilliant material.
Here are some key points from this book:
- Passion is important for success. You have to love what you do or you will not make it through the bad times. Devote yourself to what you want to be successful in and you will make it in a big way. Passion is your motivation.
- Positive thinking is important, but so is persistence. Some of Trump's property deals have taken 20 years to come to fruition. He sticks to the long term vision. You have to stay positive as success rarely occurs overnight.
- If you hate your job, or you are not passionate about what you do, then breaking out might be the best option. "Your electricity might flow better through another socket"
- Everything changes so constantly re-evaluate the big picture. What has changed and how can you take advantage of it?
All this and much more!

5 comments about Think BIG and Kick Ass in Business and Life CD.
- The book is motivational. I'm not sure if Trump is a geneous or a psychopath but at the very least the book makes you think, pumps you up and is interesting to hear Trumps' view on things.
- Great audio book. It gives you insight on how to think differently about your business dealings. It also gives guidance on how to get from where you are to where you want to be, all by thinking big. I listen to parts of it before important meetings or interviews to get into the "think big" mindset. I definitely recommend this book.
- I love this CD! It tells you things just like it is. No candy coating. It's clear and easy to understand with examples. Worth every penny!
- This book is inspirational. The only thing that would improve it would be if he read it himself. I highly recommend for anyone remotely intersted in doing anything that they are currently not doing, but want to. It is a powerful motivational tool.
Also, it has many interesting stories about the Don's personal life which are always fun.
- I bought this book because my boss told me it was good. The thing is that my boss really don't like Trump. He got the book from a friend of his as a prank for his birthday. I thought if someone who doesn't like Trump really liked the book, it had to be good.
My boss was right. The book is great. It has some good stories and really makes you think about re-evaluating your goals in life and aiming a little higher.

5 comments about Trump University Marketing 101: How to Use the Most Powerful Ideas in Marketing to Get More Customers.
- This book is a branded homage to the business acumen of Donald Trump, illustrating his success in marketing everything from cologne and shirts to commercial real estate and casinos. Author Don Sexton covers the basic building blocks of marketing strategy. His writing is straightforward, and he includes worksheets and checklists for novices, though he offers little new for experienced marketers. He covers a wide range of topics, from the basics of media outreach to managing research and financial benchmarks for a marketing campaign. The examples are limited almost exclusively to the Trump Empire, given that this is part of the "Trump University" series. We commend this as a good basic book on marketing.
- By reading the Trump University series of books, like "Marketing 101" learn how to be successful and receive the support you need to make it happen.... The Trump University is a fantastic resource!
- I, like many other people, am a big fan of Donald Trump. You may or may not like him, but one cannot help but admire his success. What I also have always found interesting is his consistent style- very straightforward, no-nonsense, with a focus on getting the job done v/s jargon. That equity is something he has leveraged admirably, from The Apprentice to Trump University to the series of books that has spurred.
This specific book, however, may be a good case study of one of the typical pitfalls of such brand extensions- viz. when you extend a brand into any new area, be careful that you aren't diluting what made that brand special in the first place. I picked up Marketing 101 thinking I would get a very `Donald Trump style' insight into the world of marketing- instead it read like any other marketing text- a lot of models, charts and concepts- but few insights into how to actually get work done in the world of marketing. Not that the book is bad- in fact it is a useful marketing text to have- but if you want the concepts and theories of marketing, you'd read Kotler or Aaker, you wouldn't go to Donald Trump!
I'd say this is a book that didn't realize its potential and fell victim to a classic marketing blunder- megabranding in a way that loses out the essence of what made the `parent' brand tick!

- This is an excellent textbook and resource for students, entrepreneur as well as for all marketing and sales manager.
The book gives a clear roadmap of all necessary marketing tools and information. I would strongly recommend to everyone who willing to learn more from professionally written book
- I've read numerous introductory marketing books in the past to try and get a satisfactory practical understanding of this topic and have found that none of them come close to this one.
After reading this book I now feel I'm conversant in all the key aspects that should be considered in the formulation of a marketing strategy.
